Such a spectacular place! Right by the ocean, so private, and an amazing beach nearby. Lisa and Hugh were very welcoming and left a very helpful guidebook. Great cottage with everything you need to unplug and relax - wood stove, campfire, bath tub + We completely enjoyed it!

Joe - July 2023

We spent 12 nights of happiness at Lisa's cottage, family with our dog. The location is unique in its private side with splendid ocean views from the terrace. A beautiful white sand beach is two minutes from the chalet. The cottage is comfortable, bright and warm! Beautiful sunrises! We loved our late afternoons, on the edge of the fireplace to contemplate the exceptional landscape. Lisa responds quickly and is understanding and flexible. When there was a technical issue, everything was resolved promptly. With a little road, there are several places to visit easily! We can't wait to get back to it!

Marie-Pier July 2023

Another great stay with Bramble Lane! We always enjoy our visits! Especially Johnson’s Pond beach is worth the short drive! It’s always quiet! Lisa’s place is cozy and comfortable!

Eden - August 2023

Splendiferous! Nuff said.

M & D (August 2012)

A wonderful place to do some lazy, deck chair birdwatching with daily hikes to the beach.

BD (August 2012)

The most relaxing and restorative two weeks of my life!

KD (September 2012)

Our family enjoyed the most wonderful week at this beautiful ocean front retreat. It is extremely hard to pinpoint all the wonderful memories & experiences we have encountered here. It truly is a little piece of heaven. Thanks for sharing. Very hard to leave.

McC family (September 2012)

A wonderful week + one day at Bramble Lane, all the peace and serenity one could want. Saw porpoise, a possible whale, many seals and eiders, and about 40+ bird species. All with the ocean constant. Perfect!

J & J, North Carolina (June 2013)

Brilliant place. Great scenery and relaxation. Great to be without TV and internet. We loved the firefly displays. Our main purpose was astronomy. Superb dark skies at night, Milky Way billowing to the horizon.

J & M, London England (July 2013)

Arrived at 4:02 under a clear, sunny, blue sky. What sights and sounds greeted us after hard days of travel. Enjoyed our first meal here tonight and have already discovered Johnston’s Pond beach. It is our 4th trip to Nova Scotia and it never disappoints.

J & V, Chillicothe Ohio (July 2013)

Arrived later than expected but what a welcome! Discovered Bramble Lane by accident on the internet and couldn’t be more delighted by this treasure of a cottage. Just what we had hoped to find…serenity, ocean, and magical aura away from it all.

M & J, Bedford Nova Scotia (August 2013)

This marks our fourth stay at this wonderful cottage. We enjoyed a relaxing week of birdwatching and beach walks. Thank you for sharing your retreat with us.

B & K, Mahone Bay Nova Scotia (Sept 2013)

I doubt you truly realize or will ever know how good this place has been for us this week. As long as we are able to, this will be a yearly thing for us. Thank you so much for sharing this jewel.

L & P, Shediac New Brunswick (Oct 2013)

My sweet girlfriend and I had one of the best vacations ever here. It was only three nights but everything was fantastic. Making meals, woodstove, walking in the dark along the beach. We’ve been all over Nova Scotia by now and will surely find ourselves returning to this hidden gem.

J & C, Halifax Nova Scotia (Oct 2013)

On the one hand we’re devastated to be leaving this morning, but on the other we’re overjoyed for having spent a week at this serenely beautiful cottage.

J & N, Montreal Quebec (June 2014)

Couldn’t have asked for a more peaceful setting. We finally got exactly what we have been looking for: complete privacy and the pleasant crash of the surf. We will certainly come back to this lovely spot.

J & H, Port Severn Ontario (June 2014)

Off the beaten track, Bramble Lane was a perfect ending to our Nova Scotia vacation. We had 3 wonderful nights here. The ocean pounding on the rocks, the visiting deer, the basking seal all added to our stay. The cottage was clean, well serviced, and comfortable. If you want to get away from busy days, distractions, and city noises…this is the place to come.

D.H., Waterloo, Ontario (June 2015)

Lisa and Hugh were able to accomodate us very quickly due to a host cancelling our original booking last minute. We were lucky to stay in their secluded cottage on the ocean. The place was cozy, clean and had everything you need for a great stay. Do consider picking up groceries (as the hosts recommended) on your way to the cottage as the closest grocery store is almost an hour away. You can hear the waves crashing all the way to the bedrooms- it’s truly special! We have already recommended this place to our friends and family traveling in the area.

S & A, Montreal (June 2015)

Spent 4 fantastic nights at Bramble Lane. This is easily the nicest cottage I have visited. We didn’t see a soul in 4 days- the cottage has everything you could need but isn’t pretentious. The beds and bedding are lovely and the scenery is out of this world. Incredible spot- can’t wait to go back!

J (August 2017)

This place was amazing! Obviously the photos do not do justice but none really could. If you don’t mind long drives, being secluded from people, and 1 hour from closest town it’s perfect! Which we loved lol the views are something indescribable and the cottage is so cute and homey we snuggled into the house and are very sad we are headed back to Ontario! Thanks for this incredibly relaxing experience and sharing it!

J (Oct 2017)

Very enjoyable stay!! Great cottage and the isolation and peace were fantastic. Beautiful area!!

R&N (July 2018)

Amazing location, so peaceful! Perfect spot for our Nova Scotia honeymoon with dogs in tow!

A&D (Aug 2018)

Amazing 5 nights that flew by. Jumped off the rocks at high tide…thanks again!

J & family (Aug 2018)

Lisa’s place is a beautiful seaside cottage. The location is amazing. The cottage is very private with only the sounds of crashing waves. A great place to get away from it all. Our children absolutely loved going treasure hunting on the beach and collecting many, many rocks and sea creatures. Lisa was quick to respond to any of our questions. The check in is seamless and contact-less. The cottage itself is absolutely beautiful and very well equipped. We had a wonderful time and would happily come back again!

Nov 2020

This place is an absolute tranquil gem. You can’t beat the view! Even the day bed in the living room is a perfect place to curl up on a lazy day and watch the ocean or read a book. There is no tv which was great for us to unplug but the wifi is great so two of us could work and our streaming services filled in any needs. The claw foot tub was a popular way to pass time anyways. The kitchen is well equipped but know that it is a euro sized fridge so pack accordingly. We had two of us for a week and there was enough space for everything we needed. Many of our local colleagues and friends have hearted this listing on their Airbnb wish list after they saw our pics! We will remember this magical spot!
